Ignoring our good start... 01:27 - Jan 10 with 418 viewsKropotkin123

Last season we had a clear decline after a good start. This season things appear to be going the same way. This season we won five and drew one game in our opening six. Taking the table from the Monday after that game, we have played 13 games, won five and lost seven. Over that period we are ranked 18th and have a minus eight goal difference.

With games being all over the place, we rise to 15th on ppg.

1 Accrington 2.18
2 Portsmouth 2.08
--------------------------------
3 Lincoln City 1.93
4 Doncaster 1.77
5 Oxford 1.67
6 Charlton 1.67
--------------------------------
7 Hull 1.64
8 Blackpool 1.64
9 Peterborough 1.62
10 Fleetwood 1.57
11 Crewe 1.50
12 Sunderland 1.36
13 Milton Keynes Dons 1.33
14 Rochdale 1.23
15 Ipswich 1.23
16 Shrewsbury 1.20
17 Northampton 1.20
18 Bristol Rovers 1.17
19 Gillingham 1.07
20 Plymouth 1.00
--------------------------------
21 Swindon 0.93
22 AFC Wimbledon 0.93
23 Wigan 0.93
24 Burton 0.71

It's easy to brush off 13 games as not that long, but it is more that a quarter of the season.

We could play everyone twice more and still not go up. We're just not very good. I think aside from changing the coaching staff, we really do need to get some of the injured and under performers off the wage bill and look to the players and management teams that have done so well for others at this level in recent years. Look at Coventry, their players on half ours were and were superb last season.
