Hi all

Bit of advice please as seen different ideas so wandered if there's some guidance on here available

Before and After nightwork, how do you treat it regarding eating. One of my colleagues said they their 'dinner' when they get in from work whereas I have my breakfast like normal before heading to bed for the day, what do you do and is there a right way to do it

Speaking as someone who has done shift work for most of their adult life, I always eat according to the time of day. So even if I've done an all-nighter, I'll still eat Toast/Porridge/Egg and Bacon delete as applicable at 7am even if I go to bed immediately afterwards.

Yeah I did nights for a few years and when I started I didn't know whether to have cornflakes when I finished, or steak and chips with red wine, or even red wine on my cornflakes...

It did occur to me that someone buying beer after finishing work at 6pm gave a different impression to someone buying them at 8am. Especially when there were school kids in the same queue.

I eventually found out that the method you describe was the best one. Saving the beer for a day off.
