Best Five Players in League One 10:43 - Feb 8 with 3766 views | PhilTWTD | As in previous years, FourFourTwo have asked us to help with their best five players feature. They want the best five in the division this season ranked from first to fifth excluding players from Town. This can include a player who was transferred out of the division in January. Separately, they want us to name our own club's best player. If posters name their top five, I'll collate the results and come up with a definitive top five next Monday when they want us to get back to them.

Best Five Players in League One on 13:04 - Feb 15 by Nthsuffolkblue | Which of our players has not been anonymous for the last 10 matches? "Nothing lazier in football than thinking because someone it means that they played well" hmm. Interesting statement. We all know you didn't rate Edwards even when he clearly was our best player but please give me the argument why Downes deserves it. Tell me who do you think does and I will tell you why Edwards is ahead of them. |
If you can't see the difference between Edwards and Downes on a football pitch then you are going to take me trying to explain it. They are are so far apart in the scope of best player

Except that wasn't at all what I said. Of course, Downes is a better player. If you want who is the technically gifted player at the club then the answer is Troy Parrott. However, Troy Parrott has not been our best player this season. In the 10 matches that Downes has played for us this season, he has not looked anything like the player he can be. He has injured himself in a rash challenge and been lucky not to see red on at least one occasion. If you honestly think Downes has been our best player this season you are the one with exceptionally poor judgment.

Our best player is Downes, if he hasn't played enough then the answer is Bishop. Hence it can only be Downes or Bishop. Edwards is so far off

I can understand a vote for Bishop. He is certainly a more technically gifted player. However, how effective has Bishop been this season? Certainly far less effective than Edwards. While you might like to say end product is not a way to judge a footballer, that argument supports the idea that Lambert is doing a good job. It is about winning matches and doing what is necessary to win them. Not about playing possession football inside our own half.

Less effective than Edwards? Give me strength, name one game where Edwards has had a solid performance. He hardly touches the ball and when he does his retention is awful. His involvement has been some poacher goals. People are really over doing this top scorer business.
