Cricket Day Two 05:09 - Mar 5 with 3945 views | gainsboroughblue | Worth getting up for so far. India 41-3. Kohli out for a duck. 205 starting to look a better score.

Cricket Day Two on 10:46 - Mar 5 by Reuser_is_God | FFS, Root bowling with the new ball shows how wrong we've got it; once again. |
If we were going to drop a bowler, the batsmen had to deliver. They didn't and now we're relying on Anderson with a dodgy ankle, a sick and exhausted Stokes, a part-time (if quite effective) spinner and the out-of-form Bess. Just leaves Leach, who isn't a miracle spinner capable of winning the game on his own.

Ultimately it's just really muddled thinking. Woakes would probably have scored more runs than most of our top 6 and would have given us another seam option. Bess can't be trusted to bowl 20-30 overs which has left us flogging Anderson and Stokes half to death.

Odd that Archer was set to play but when ruled out we decided to go with a batsman.

Indeed. As Herbs said, it's not like Woakes isn't a capable lower-order batsman himself. Even Broad can tonk a few.

Very odd. And when you make that call you can't then only post 205 when batting first, but then the call shouldn't have been made in the first place. Woakes is well capable of a few runs and would have given us another good bowling option as well. Unless we somehow bat for the best part of 2 days I can't see Anderson and Stokes being up to much in the final innings, they'll be exhausted.

And now Bess is back on to bowl a few of his full tosses and half trackers.

Possibly hoping to boost his confidence by bagging a tail-ender or two.

I genuinely think Joe Root is a better spinner.

Cricket Day Two on 10:15 - Mar 8 with 366 views | Charlie_pl_baxter | Seeing as there seem to be a few cricket fans on here I wondered if any of you might fancy an event we are running at my work. I work for youth cricket Charity Chance to Shine and we are holding a double header zoom event. The first will be held on Thursday 18th March at 7pm, with Andrew Strauss, Heather Knight and Alastair Cook linking up to discuss all things England cricket. West Indies former captain Daren Sammy, former South African captain Graeme Smith and current Australian captain Meg Lanning will be our ‘International Hat-trick’ on Thursday 25th March at 7pm. Both events will be held on Zoom, and be hosted by Mark Nicholas. If anyone is interested link attached here: https://www.chancetoshine.org/event/captainscall2
