Peterborough has a somewhat more testing set of opponents, Charlton very much so. Accrington's away run is quite stiff. At the other end of the scale, there are Portsmouth and ourselves, both of whose schedules are significantly skewed towards the lower end of the table.

It doesn't yet feel we've turned a corner as a team with Cook in charge (and it's still way too early for that). Some point to the fact that we are playing teams fighting for their survival but our win rate against those teams towards the bottom is actually half decent, so there is no real reason why we can't sneak the play-offs. Need some confidence and momentum though I feel. [Post edited 24 Mar 2021 8:38]

That last sentence is key, it will be the teams with confidence and momentum who make the play-offs and have a better chance of winning them. I would rather get into them on the back of a run of form than fall into third place. It's also so tight between Doncaster in 5th on 57 points and Accrington in 12th on 53. Another good run and we're in with a reasonable chance.

Agreed. That dreaded third place is to be avoided!

The run in on 08:05 - Mar 24 with 466 views | HighgateBlue | Very interesting. As I've said before, we win about 32% more points per game at home, but even that stat is slightly skewed by the fact that we've yet to play 6 of the bottom 8 away, whereas we've only got 2 of the bottom 8 left to play at home. Whatever way you slice it, it's clearly the case that we have easier games to come than those that we've already played. Plus the injury situation is better than it was at most points thus far this season. We can still find a way to stuff it up, obviously, but we're still in with a shout of the top six. But Cook's poor start must improve...
