"It's like we've won a raffle to play at this ground" 17:42 - Apr 24 with 3666 viewsTractorCam

A real quote from our manager, what a strange season!

Poll: An interesting day for our politicians, but which one is worse?

Why do people keep dragging this idea up? It has been covered many times - the club do not want to trigger an extension nor be responsible for a player possibly injuring himself while playing for them when he is definitely out of the door at season/contract end.

I don’t buy this excuse. We are playing several players who are out of contract in the summer and won’t be here next season. We risk having to pay for all of their recuperation if they get injured.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

Yes, it's obviously not the whole story - it's standard for players continue to play games knowing they're leaving a club at the end of the season.

And, if we're minted now then covering the costs of any rehabilitation from a potential injury wouldn't be a big deal.

Taking yesterday’s team:

Cornell - Under contract
Vincent-Young - Under contract
Ward - Contract expires but with option
Woolfenden - Under contract
McGuinness - Loan expires
Downes - Under contract
Dozzell - Under contract
Bishop - Contract expires with option
Bennetts - Loan expires
Edwards - Contract expires without option
Hawkins - Under contract

Holy - Under contract
Chambers - Contract expires with option
Nsiala - Contract expires with option
Skuse - Contract expires with option
Dobra - Under contract
Jackson - Contract expires with option
Drinan - Contract expires; unknown if there is an option

Do we assume from this that Cook is considering whether to renew the options on everyone in the squad but Judge?

Poll: Who would you play at right centre back on Saturday?

So why keep persisting with the likes of Bennetts and McGuiness? Why not drop the players he feels are letting the club down.

Edit. And why not use Judge as a sub as he’s one of the few who has given 100%?

Perhaps they have to play a minimum number of matches per their loan agreements? Or we pay less for the loan agreement if they play more?

If not, it's baffling, particularly Bennetts.
