If Norwood, Downe and KVY had been fit all season would we have got in Play Offs 16:04 - May 13 with 545 viewsCaptMickMills

I think the answer is yes. Whether we woukd have got promoted through Play Offs is another question.

Ridiculously, given our poor season, we were only 5 points from Play Offs. Even in our poor team attacking wise, Norwood would have scored enough goals to gain 5 points and KVYs attacking threat from right back woukd have made a big difference.

Downes would have added bite and energy in midfield.

If Onlys and What Ifs eh?

Totally irrelevant now and apparently onward to a completely different ITFC dimension in space and time.

Yes, we weren't *that* far off the top six. We would have made it had those three stayed fit or also if Cook had got more out of the sqaud after he arrived.

Had Evans got rid of Lambert in the Autumn when it was clear he was failing again, and Cook then had the transfer window, then who knows where we might have been able to finish.

It's why I don't think we need to throw everyone out, just need sensible additions.

Probably not. Most teams - incl those above us - could probably point to similar issues and would say that they would have had more points had "so and so" stayed fit.
Bottom line is our squad was not good enough or motivated enough - it never really looked like being so other than "on paper".
Now, we have yet another opportunity. We will take one of them one day, surely.

Had Lambert remained he'd have got this squad to the Playoffs, we were on track when Evans listened to the fans and brought their favorite Cook in, like he did Hurst and the rest is history. Lesson learned, don't let Facebook, Twitter and forums make your managerial appointments.

Yes, exactly this. 5 or so quality additions and be better at keeping players fit is what we need.

we really should have done, however, playoffs is only a 1 in 4 chance of promotion, so we'd likely be in the same boat (expect with lambert getting another 5 year extension, judge and ward getting their extra years and even more griping on twtd than there is now)
