Some bright spark has come up with the idea of having a system where you and goods can move around most of Europe freely.
No costly insurance or checks at the borders, in fact any borders. Goods going either way won't even have to pay any tax. And there's a guarantee that everything from food to electrical goods will be safe.
Imagine the restrictions and delays being lifted. Exporters could move back to the UK. The City could begin to recover the billions it has lost in trade, fishermen could get back to work as could any number of small businesses who export to Europe.
It would be for UK residents what the Berlin Wall coming down was for East Germans. A lifting of the gloom and failure that has descended upon the country.
Silly idea though, it might suit those foreign johnnies over the water, but we should be concentrating on sealing up the Channel Tunnel and looking inward a bit more.

It's funny how this 'understanding other people' only ever seems to go one way though, isn't it? How often are progressive views dismissed and sneered at as woke, or cancel culture? How often have Brexiteers plainly ignored facts and reason, yet somehow still get a free pass from people like you? I've never seen you launch into threads to stick up for anything that deviates from the mainstream.
If those on the left dare to point out the ignorance behind some of the ideas eminating from those voting from the right these days, suddenly you're up in arms and claiming people voting to spite everyone else as the fault of those on the left.
My problem with your posts Trekkie is that you don't attribute responsibility squarely to the people who should be made to own it, and I don't believe this fair and balanced front you present. Someone on the right says or does something counter productive, you constantly claim it's the lefts fault. Your posts often sound good, but pay attention and they're mainly just one sided puff pieces designed to sound moderate but actually just regurgitate the same old crappy right wing talking points that everyone is bored of hearing. Albeit with some flowery prose.
