I think he’s probably finished at this level. Such a shame, but he’s not anything close to the player we signed.
Prediction time: I’ll be surprised if he makes 40+ starts in the top 3 tiers of English football between now and retirement.

Severe knee cartilage damage just can't really be repaired - once the cartilage is gone that's it, really - football then becomes very painful and just causes continued deterioration of the joint. Even with the best treatment / management available there's not a lot you can do - and what we were offering him in terms of medical science was probably some way off that!
Good luck to him if he tries to get another contract, but I would guess that he'll retire / look at coaching options etc. |  | | |
