No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.
I saw The Chords at The Corn Exchange back in about 81
As for the Mod continuation, I always thought Wilko was the understated man
I just don't like drummers without shirts! It's a rock thing! Purple Hearts also at the CE around then. Actually think it was the night before start of 81/2 season! Feelgoods, the link between 60's R n B bands and Punk. I was too young for the pub rock scene in 70's, but it seemed to fill a big hole left from those 60's bands. As said , The Buzzcocks stood above the tattered and torn postcard Punk look. Class act.
Yes - but they look a right state don't they, I think that was filmed in Newcastle.
Now if I hadn't turned a new leaf and become politically correct I would have said they looked like a right load of bags.
Compare that scruffy lot to the kids at The Secret Affair footage.
Yes indeed, and if I wasn't so woke myself I think I could find myself referring to the girls in the audience as a load of mingers, but we do have a notable Newcastle poster who might be offended, so there's no way would I go there. In fairness Dr Feelgood's performance predates a lot of the late 70's new music cults, so they probably got their acts together and binned the Starsky and Hutch chunky knitwear.
Bethnal were a 70s group who were hard to place and who deserved more recognition than they got, maybe a touch mod, not sure they knew what they were tbh.
