I know nothing about him so thought maybe we needed a 'made simple' checklist

Irish - obviously a massive plus for anyone
Young - meh, could go either way
Simple name - only complete fecking eejits could spell it wrong
Jim likes him - Good
Man U fans dont like him - massive plus
Never won promotion - bad sign
Never been relegated - good sign

What else do we need to find out?

Favourite cheese
How much does he dislike the Smiths
Vegan
Does he hate Norwich

"Kieran" isn't the Irish equivalent of "Paul", is it?

Irish ... like Keane!
Nothing wrong with young - we have failed too often with old managers.
Kieron McKenner you say.
Hmmm. Jim was a great player but I am not convinced about his judgment of management potential - either way.
Agreed.
Why is this a bad sign? All those been there done it managers we have had can't do it for us. Why not go with someone who will do it instead of someone who did once do it?
Irrelevant ... isn't it?

Your first and last questions must be pivotal to any interview process mustn't they? Any hesitation and failure to be unequivocal about the answer must eliminate the candidate from the list.
