Has Cook broken cover at all following his sacking? 12:41 - Dec 14 with 2591 viewsDubtractor

Usually by now there would have been a statement of some sort from a departing manager wouldn't there?

NDA?

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Would there? Not sure we heard much if anything from Lambert, Hurst or Mick after they left.

I might be going mad, but on every interview for 6/8months after MM went he had digs into us

The LMA often puts out a statement on behalf of departed managers. Maybe Cook is too bitter about things

Lambert hasn't so assume that Evans had them all sign NDA's, even Hurst hasn't said a great amount, and Mick has never uttered a word. I think Evans learned from Keane's book where Evans and his organisation were shown to be a disorganised mess.

Take this with as large a pinch of salt as you feel is suitable, but I'm told he knew the writing was on the wall once McGreal was given a job (and apparently that's why he wasn't in the best of moods for press duties that week).

I would have thought that was exactly how it was.

Speaking as someone who usually doesn't go in too much for speculation I doubt you're going too far out on a limb with that.

That is what was circling that week, if we heard it, he did. Probably affected the result as the players knew they didn't have to work for the man anymore.

Modern football eh.

Yeah, this was what I was thinking really, usually something bland as hell thanking the supporters etc, but I've not seen anything from him.

More than a little disappoionted I would imagine, given he clearly cared and takes a lot of pride in what he does. Must be hard, to be sacked so publicly. Hard enough for any of us to be sacked I would imagine, but certainly must be difficult if it's so public in the industry.

I hope and imagine he'll lick his wounds and pop up somewhere else, and I wouldn't bet against him being a success.

Well yeah, Mick seems to have ego on a different level to most.

Doubt it. Anyone with anything about them does not go to Marbella.

Yeah, he was pretty thin skinned too for someone that claimed to not care what people said.

Alas, still a better manager than anyone we've had since!

He will be a success elsewhere I’m sure. Like ex players, good luck to him - in the past now.

If he is interested in further employment I can’t imagine it would serve his interests by publicly mouthing off at the moment. I suspect he will comment in due course.

As for being fired, sport is odd in that there’s very little stigma attached to it, unlike the real world. So yes, not nice for him but all part of the football circus.
