I understand he has a cult following, I’ve enjoyed his 2 goals in last 2 weeks. Not a player for me!

He’s 31, contract coming to an end, high earner and there is not much more to his game than we have seen. Overriding recent memories are Lambert era, Nors running around like a headless chicken, offside or crashing into challenges and itfc losing attacking momentum week after week. I’m not mad for his injury record either when asked to play regularly.

You could potentially see a short term contract but everything depends on his goals, performances, attitude and fitness.

Im all for backing players and developing but I would like to look beyond likes of Norwood, Jackson, Nsiala.

I'd be amazed if his contract is extended beyond this season even if he starts featuring more regularly.

Indeed, Norwood can score goals at this level & is useful if we're going to play 2 up top, but he has never been a lone striker as he doesn't hold up the ball. That's largely why he's spent his career in the lower leagues. Could be worth a 1 year deal, depending on how McKenna wants to play. He has very limited transfer value so it isn't exactly a big decision.

Problem now is that if Norwood hadn't been brought back into the side, there would have been few League One clubs interested in him come January. Memory's are short. Now that he's back and scored twice in two games, League One clubs will be keen to snap him up - and there'll be suitors in this league that appreciate him far more than Town fans do.

League One isn't complicated. You don't need to play like Barcelona every week to get promoted. You need to score goals and keep them out the other end. Norwood has, and always will, know where the back of the net is. Born goalscorer. Town should at least keep him until the end of the season, or else he's the kind of player that will come back to haunt us if he goes to a rival. This squad is good enough for promotion; they just need to be managed right.
