I know we can hardly talk.. 18:51 - Dec 26 with 3455 views | FightingEssex | But Norwich has to be the most pointless club to ever bounce up and down the leagues. There’s absolutely nothing there in that team worth supporting or getting excited about is there? People bang on about how well run they are, but surely being humiliated nationally every other season isn’t that great of a job? It’s a bit like if we experienced 94/95 every other season for the best part of 5 years now. I know we are as low as we have ever been, but I can’t say that I’d want their fate much either. Even Watford give it a go at least, Norwich take a year off in that league.

I know we can hardly talk.. on 15:26 - Dec 27 with 711 views | NthQldITFC | https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/ipswich-town/itfc-could-lose-premier-league-record- Was just reading this about how we could lose the 'most goals conceded in a Premier League calendar year' record to Newcastle tonight. My first thought was 'Newcastle!? Surely Norwich have conceded many more than them?' Then I realised that they would have to actually survive for one season in order to even be in the running! (But I agree, we can hardly talk.) Can I ask you outright, OP, are you a budgie? I must admit I always thought you were. Is this a reverse psychology thread fishing for pro-budgie sentiment?

Are you suggesting the constant threads started putting Town down with all the thinly veiled bigging up of Nodge comments are hinting at a loyalty to a club that do not play in such tasteful colours as ours?

I do think they might manage the record in just half a season. Let's hope they cam between 1 Jan and the end of May! They would only need to average 4 goals conceded per match.

I know we can hardly talk.. on 16:17 - Dec 28 with 524 views | FightingEssex | Apparently well run clubs get smashed against giants like Crystal Palace as well… I stand by what I said. They’re a total embarrassment, couldn’t care less and the most pointless club ever to grace the Premiership. Sooner or later the string will fall off the yo-yo and they’ll be in free fall still having won nothing either.

I know we can hardly talk.. on 16:41 - Dec 28 with 507 views | FBI | I've always had a weird feeling about Norwich. One the one hand I've had a natural predilection for wanting them to do badly... obviously. That Bayern game was the only time I've ever wanted a foreign team to beat a British one in a European match. And then there's Grant Holt, Chris Sutton etc.. Because, well, they're sodding Nodge, after all. On the other hand the less partisan part of me sees a smallish club from a football backwater, unfashionable and doing what they do without the aid of glamour players, occasionally punching above their weight, a small budget for their level and a determination to keep on bouncing back. And I have a sneaking suspicion that (ducks for cover and awaits the downvotes) they're actually a bit... like... us... . And, d'you know what? I frickin' hate the Premier League. It has about as much to do with what this old git thinks of as football as F1 does to proper cars. Seriously, unless something extraordinary happens, when we finally get back there, how exciting will it really be, hoping we don't get our asses handed to us on a plate every few weeks? Where success is measured by not getting relegated or going bankrupt? Which isn't to say I don't dream of it, but I do worry what sort of experience we'll have up there. Can I suggest a New Year's resolution for you? ... As for the "I do worry what sort of experience we'll have up there" we need to get there first but there are plenty of teams that go up, buy wisely and stay up. The Premier League is not the same 25 clubs rotating over a few seasons, much as many would have you believe it is. Nodge are the only real yoyo club at present.

:-) Yeah, I know, get over myself :-D There are some clubs that have really put down anchors there and I think we have the setup that can allow us to do what Leicester have, or Southampton. But then I also see the likes of Norwich and West Brom and Captian Paranoia turns up. But, yeah. "How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Premier League" will be my motto for the next five years.

I was actually going to suggest giving up drinking assuming that you must have had a few to be seeing it that way. There are a few clubs that are very lucky to sneak into it like Notts County (just before the change to the Premier League), Bradford, Swindon etc. but there are plenty that have built a foundation and make a good fist of staying up. Then you have nodge who take the money and make no real pretence of any attempt at competing.
