Brilliant and reinforces ones faith in human nature.
As it stands (or certainly as proposed, I’m not sure what the Lords have now managed to remove) the Borders and Nationality Bill working its way through the Houses, would make us criminals if we showed compassion and humanity like that. (Not that the refugees could get here anyway unless they could get a visa through immediate family ties or for seasonal work).

Sorry, don’t want to politicise or sidetrack the thread, as we absolutely should praise those who are helping like this first and foremost, and the personal response has been amazing. It’s just that I think a lot of people here are yet to realise how our government wants to attack values that a lot of us would associate with being British. |  |
