Who else would have been good under KM? 07:22 - Mar 9 with 2387 viewswkj

Funny old season really - two players who were on many people's bin list are now some of the most dependable in the squad. That is, Jackson and Janoi. Granted, Janoi was trusted by the demolition man - I don't think many saw Jackson ever featuring this season.

It makes me wonder who else that previous management convinced us were useless, but in actual fact may have been key players with a tweaked system.

Maybe Troy Parrott, who I think would have been an excellent player under KM, certainly doing the biz at MKD.

I do think it's very probable that Thompson's lack of urgency down that left side compared to Burns on the right is intentional to some extent. If both full backs were as marauding it would leave us more vulnerable defensively. The position Burns plays for a RWB is outrageous really and it's enabled by Donacien and the team being set up properly to cover for it.

Indeed. Donacien was the most advanced player on the right on a number of occasions – and got to the byline three or four times.

That’s not the game of Edmundson on the left. Or Burgess who did look to step forward a bit more.

Comparing Thompson and Burns is comparing chalk and cheese. The right side attacks, the left side contains and keeps us stable. Rather than being unbalanced it actually makes us more balanced front to back.

On a related note, Burns/Donacien vs. Thompson/Edmundson in training must be a very good contest.
