Bakinson 15:16 - Apr 5 with 3990 viewshype313

What's the consensus on him?

He has looked better in recent times after his Benny Hill cameo start, but I'm not sure he has all the attributes we need from a midfielder for this division next season.

I get that Ashton is very keen to bring through younger players with a view to sell on if successful, but I'm not sure the two can be achieved at the same time, when it is going to be even more imperative to go up next season.

I just think we need another experienced midfielder alongside Morsy next season to grind out results. Not so sure Evans is the answer either.

Poll: Should Muric be dropped?

I would try to sign him. The Morsy, Bakinson, Evans axis has been pretty good generally. They are helping keep clean sheets and moving the ball up the pitch with purpose. Our issues are further forward and much as we have debated the strikers, the spotlight also needs to fall on our attacking midfielders. We know that we need a foil/balance on the left for Burns. Cambridge showed if you shut down our right side, we struggle. But much as I really like Aluko, Celina and Chaplin, we have not created anywhere near enough chances and against clubs like Cambridge, Morcambe etc we need to find that killer pass/cross more. We only have one player (Burns) in the top 20 for assists. Can't say I would want to see any of that trio leave but we need a stronger creative force up there and if they are good at set pieces, even better.

I've liked the look of Bakinson but after the chat from Ashton last week about McKenna not wanting to block pathways, I do wonder what that says about El Mizouni should he end up here permanently.

TBH In the last few games sides have sides have ,as you say shut down our right hand side , leaving us struggling . It had me wondering why does KM have Burns switch sides some times .
