Aberdeen tonight
at 09:40 25 Jul 2025

Looking forward to watching the game live tonight. It looks like it will be a good crowd too. A couple of sections have sold out. One section of the ground is closed but apparently only 2k tickets remaining (20,000 capacity). I don't think (not surprising given the distance) we are taking a huge number but I'm sure we'll be vocal!

Any Aberdeen or Scotland based supporters heading to Pittodrie?

I am driving there (from Fife) and wondered if anyone has any suggestions for parking near the stadium as it's a ground I have never been to.

Injured Players

In the absence of any transfer activity, is their any news about our various long-term injured players from last season? Who might we see in pre-season and who will still be out.

Subs today
at 13:17 14 Jan 2023

Going to be very interesting to see who the subs are today. Could be a similar first XI as against Portsmouth (illness affected the Lincoln line up more)

Walton
Donacien, Woolfenden, Burgess
Burns, Evans, Morsy, Davis
Chaplin, Harness
Ladapo

Apart from Hladky we have 6 places on the bench with the following presumably available

Keogh
Edmonson
KVY
Jackson
Edwards
Humphreys
Ahadme
Aluko
Leigh
Hirst
Broadhead
Luongo

Tough to choose from that group.

Pattern emerging with potential signings
at 19:28 5 Jan 2023

Looking at the write ups on Hirst, Luongo, Broadhead and Corbeanu, they all seem to have performed well at League 1 level but struggled this year in the Championship. Presumably the recruitment team feel they are the kind of players we need to get us out of League 1 but do they feel these players could be developed to make more impression on the Championship next season.

Transfer Window Priority
at 09:59 3 Dec 2022

I know we have long debated the need to strengthen certain positions on the pitch but I feel the over-riding need at the moment is to bring in one or two players with a stronger mentality. The fact that we keep conceding late goals on a regular basis shows there is a leadership vacuum at key moments within our team.

We have Morsey who obviously is a leader out on the pitch but we need more. I had hoped that Keogh might have been that player but that does not seem to be the case. I don't particularly mind what position they play (striker, No.10 or attacking midfielder would be best of course) but we need one or two stronger characters to help us over the line in situations like last night.

Our team feels like a tight-knit group of talented players led by a very competent coaching team but increasingly teams will come to Portman Road and always think they have a chance unless we display more mental strength.

Injuries
at 12:12 24 Oct 2022

Do we have any information about when our injured players may be likely to return? Could do with one or two coming back into the squad.

Ahadme - Close to a return I think
Aluko - Surgery in Sept, several months out predicted
Evans - Any news?
Leigh - Another long-term on I think
Burgess - Any news?

Year to year comparison
at 19:44 20 Sep 2022

To idle away the time before the game starts and to make up for my slight disappointment after Saturday, I have been comparing our results in the equivalent games from last year, using the teams relegated last year as equivalents for Bristol and Forest Green and Sunderland as an equivalent for Barnsley. Makes comforting reading. There is no game where we have suffered a worse result and only 2 games where we have not bettered the result from last season. Basically 14 points better off than in the equivalent games last year. Means nothing but made me feel better.

This weekend
at 12:46 5 Sep 2022

Early days, one game at a time etc but if we can do the business against Cambridge, this weekend could work out well for us.

Portsmouth are away to Barnsley (who beat Sheff Wed at the weekend)
Plymouth are at home to Sheff Wed (3 v 4) so one or both will drop points
Peterborough have a more straightforward fixture at home to FGR

As long as we don't slip up against Cambridge the table might make even better viewing this time next week.

Keogh tomorrow
at 10:25 29 Aug 2022

I hope we get to see Keogh play tomorrow. Watching the highlights from Saturday again I couldn't help thinking a better defensive organiser in there may well have prevented us conceding those two soft goals on Saturday.

The unlikely success of next season
at 14:04 2 Jun 2022

There is always at least one player who turns out to be an unlikely success in any season. Arguably Jackson and maybe Wolf last season. I have a hunch it could be Edwards and Cameron Humphreys next season. A few games early last season Edwards was electric, hopefully he will rediscover that form

It was only one game but Humphreys looked very composed against Charlton, great pass for the final goal too.

Anyone else?
