It’s a thoroughly depressing situation which doesn’t get anywhere near enough media coverage in this country. None of our political parties seem keen to speak up against it and it highlights how pretty helpless we are when it comes to dealing with China.

A regime as insidious as Putin’s. They should have been sanctioned years ago but unfortunately our businesses are addicted to cheap manufacturing, (which as the pandemic has shown is a deeply flawed model).

It’s hard to avoid much of the cheap tat that comes from there, but I’d never fund an expensive purchase made there - eg a Volvo or MG.
