Didn’t a few Liverpool teams from the 80s only have a couple or so English players? What’s the difference between that then and their team now?

They had English players but the team was predominantly made up of British Players. Big difference to now

Could have egg on my face for this but don’t know how you’ve concluded Real Madrid’s midfield is better unless you’re blinded by big names. Think Liverpool will largely dominate and win fairly comfortably, 3-1 is my bet

In terms of football, being Scottish is the same as being Spanish - if you can’t play for England then they are foreign.

Maybe that's the perception now, but back in the 70s/80s it's wasn't such a big thing imo.
