3 year deal for Humphries 15:00 - Jun 8 with 3000 views | STYG | Great news. Also tends to suggest we've got big plans for him this season, otherwise it would be the usual year or two with an option etc. Three years for a player yet to break into the first team must be recognition of the fact he's really expected to be a big part of the squad and not something I'd imagine the current regime would be doing if likely to be loaned out. Kid looks easily the best of what we have coming through. [Post edited 8 Jun 2022 15:03]

3 year deal for Humphries on 09:16 - Jun 9 by itfcjoe | Very versatile as well, can play all over and is a smart footballer. Like to see him involved |
Suspect there will be big question marks over him and Harper again this summer. Personally can't see either of them getting a game ahead of Morsy, Ball & Evans, and I wonder if we're still after another CM given the links with Taylor at Peterborough as well.

Ball and Morsy are experienced Championship midfielders in their peak years, I can't see that we'd realistically be signing anyone who'll be getting games ahead of them. I think if those 3 remain fit they'll account for the vast majority of centre midfield appearances for us next season. The question is whether we can do better than El Mizouni, Harper, Humphreys as our 4th/5th-choice midfielders.
