Planning on driving to Italy (Bardi area) - advice 14:25 - Jun 13 with 886 views | unbelievablue | Any advice, really, for the trip, would be great, though I have specific questions below. From Calais it's approx. 1200km. Looking at the route through France (past Lyon, Chamonix, Mt Blanc tunnel etc.). - Tolls: anyone know if this site is accurate? https://tollguru.com/toll-calculator-europe - Navigation: Waze, or Google Maps? Will be hooking up the phone via the cig lighter rather than buying a Sat Nav

Planning on driving to Italy (Bardi area) - advice on 14:57 - Jun 13 with 834 views | bluelagos | If driving in the summer, not time bound and you enjoy driving, head to Baden Baden and pick up the B500. Can do quite a few mountain passes on way, Grossglocker, Stelvio, Furker, De Gia, De Gavia...all awesome. Overnight in Cochem, Titisee and Davos. Arrange a mortgage for Swiss hotel, beers. Enjoy.

I think we're going to maximise time at the house near Bardi on this occasion to be honest, in order to keep costs lower. But thanks for that - good to know for future trips!

Planning on driving to Italy (Bardi area) - advice on 15:37 - Jun 13 with 800 views | itfcjoe | I've used Waze when driving abroad and like in the UK it is far and away the best thing for it. Just need to check what your roaming charges are because some carriers allow UK data to be used as is, whereas others don't since Brexit and it can tot up really quickly. I'm O2 and pay nothing extra for EU roaming

Interestingly I now pay roaming charges on O2 as a continued use scenario, but it’s not much £2 a month, for my use here in Madeira.
Planning on driving to Italy (Bardi area) - advice on 11:12 - Aug 9 with 435 views | unbelievablue | Leaving on Sunday afternoon. I must admit I am excited to undertake the drive, scenery looks great. Thanks all for advice. Have gone with Waze and bought a 20gb sim card for an old iPhone to use for navigation.
