If we are stopping ifollow after next season.
Will there still be ifollow for the away team visiting us?

And will we have to take our own cameras and gantry to each away game? Or will we just be stuck with their one camera? Incidentally, with clubs going their own way, there may come a point in time when iFollow becomes unviable which would be a shame for the smaller clubs. And Radio Suffolk will also presumably get less revenue, which is a shame.

I also wonder once things move in house whether VPN will still be an option, not sure how fans of other clubs with in house broadcasting have got on with that....

I quite enjoyed having the live image feed synced (or just about...) with radio Suffolk. Best I guess to reserve judgement until we see what the product is like next year but the commentary side is something I wouldn't have changed.

Poll: Which nickname for ITFC do you prefer?

And will we be allowed to take our own cameras to away games?

If the home team has an agreement with iFollow would they also allow our cameras to show the game?
I assume yes if we pay them

If they're smart they'll make as little effort as possible to block them so put the minimum level of requirements in so anyone with half a noodle can circumnavigate and they still bag a tenner.

I'm a season ticket holder, but still got my VPN on when I couldn't make games and paid an additional tenner and watched home games from my....erm....villa in the Italian Alps :-)

I bet your villa in the Alps isn't as nice as my villa in Cannes!

VPN is specifically outlawed by the iFollow contract for the upcoming season.

It will be interesting to see what happens when I log on from Scotland with no VPN to disguise that fact, because the iFollow marketing blurb said "Wherever you are in the world you can watch ITFC."

Is that genuine? That sounds nice if it is. The BIL’s parents had a chalet in the French Alps (big feck off solid wooden thing, like the stereotypical images on Ski Sunday). Lovely place to go in the summer. I never went during the skiing season unfortunately.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

Not really sure why we are moving from ifollow. Probably in a vain attempt to make money, but I imagine it must cost a fortune to actually set up and run. I think I read the Bristol City’s version has a lot of technical issues. I assume we’d go down the same route.

And bringing Gerry Harrison out of retirement won't be cheap either.

Oh dear, that doesn’t sound good. My friend likes to watch the away games with his VPN etc.

It's always been 'outlawed'. Several VPN's have been blocked for years and I'd anticipate the list will grow.

my Dad is 85, has a pacemaker and cannot leave his bungalow. He first went to watch ITFC in the late 1940s and was a regular for decades. Pretty much the only pleasure he has in life now is watching ITFC games using the vpn I set up for him. It would be tragic if this is prevented.

Poll: would you rather

I totally agree, but I wouldn't think it ifollow's or the club's fault for enforcing licensing rules. You'd assume that they are being is lax as they can to maximise revenue, while also keeping any governing bodies at arms length.

It's been a relatively half-hearted attempt to block VPN traffic so far.
