That is correct Phil. David was very much the leading light of the Blue Arrow project.

Was it a general fanzine or aimed at the travelling support hence the name?

I remember it as just the special train that took us to away matches.

Those were great times. I certainly did not go on every Blue Arrow trip but I did several. 'Morningtown Ride' by The Seekers the first record played each time on the piped music system as I recall. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

took my mrs on the blue arrow to leeds to see her first away game. their corporation double decker buses pulled right up as near possible , to ferry all the town fans to elland road. my mrs wanted to know why we were going up stairs on the bus. i told we would get a better view of leeds , not that bricks might be coming through the window. sure enough the bus after ours had it windows smashed. if memory is correct think we lost three two

I would love to know just how many actual Blue Arrow trips there were as opposed to special trains. I know that I went to lots of away games in the late 1960's and early 1970's that were by special train but they were certainly not all Blue Arrow. We lost 3-2 at Leeds at the end of 1973/74 which just about clinched the title for Leeds and I know I went by train which I think was a 'special' but not sure that it was Blue Arrow because I think that they had just about stopped running by then.
