T20 World Cup 21:53 - Oct 9 with 661 views | ringwoodblue | So how do we fancy England’s chances in T20 World Cup? And if you don’t think we’ll win, who do you think will? On our day I reckon we can beat anyone as proven by the victory against Australia today but looking back on the 7-match series against Pakistan, we can be very inconsistent so I can’t see us winning the competition. Personally I think the hosts Australia will win it.

I'd make England slight favourites; the question mark would be against their bowlers dealing with the conditions. Aus, then the Indians and Kiwis - always the random factor in hit and giggle.

The Kiwis are a good shout. They do economic bowling very well and have an under-rated batting line up that does not rely on one player. This format is probably more unpredictable than any of the longer ones, though. Just needs a couple of very good/very poor overs and a match is turned.

They *should* also be familiar with Aussie conditions and they are *so* overdue a win in an ICC short-form tournament. But they won't. Difficult to see past England or Aussie. However, ... Pakistan won the ODIWC in '92 in Aus - 10/1 on betfair - I've had a nibble at that. Aus (4.0)/ Eng(4.6)/ Ind 4.9) all clear of the rest in the betting (SA next at 9.8).

Besides being South Africa and not winning any tournaments, they're surely a very good outside shout with a decent bowling unit and plenty of hitting I do fear England are showing most of their cards in this series against Oz who are resting a few key players Other than Livingstone, we aren't far off full strength today We should have got way more than 208, at one stage 220+ was looking like a bare minimum We were 160ish off 14 overs as an example although both sides finished poorly with the bat I wouldn't read too much into the Pakistan series on consistency, we were continually tweaking the line up and testing things out but when it mattered, the team did step up We are ranked number 2 in the World and were Number 1 for a while, we should be competitive and these pitches should suit out attacking game The problem with T20 is it all comes down to a couple of key players having a good day, Pakistan as an example have the World Number 1 & 2 batsman, if they bat most of the game, they are very hard to stop, get them out as our series proved and there's not much outside those two England have a lot of batting depth but depth is far less important in the shorter game, it's more about allowing 2 or 3 players to dominate, a long partnership in T20 is devastating [Post edited 10 Oct 2022 2:00]
