Refereed the game at Anfield this afternoon and thought he handled it very well. Let the game flow despite some old school physical challenges which made for a very good game. I expect Pep might have a little winge in the post match interview though.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

Agree, thought he let it flow nicely. Although how he didn’t call that foul by Silva on Salah near the end was quite something.

But, just read a Twitter thread where liverpool and man city fans are all raged up against Taylor and saying he was biased. Who’d be a referee?

He was very good. Even the Thiago foul which looked like a real shocker was more about Thiago losing his footing, so the yellow was probably about right.

More annoyed at the linesman who was no more than 5 yards away.
Almost no point in them any longer...if they aren't allowed to give any fouls.

Changing the subject, but it was a bit weird the way for Mo Salah's goal the ball struck the net and bounced straight back onto the pitch. I guess it must have hit a skewer or something, but I've never seen a ball do that before. It threw the commentator for a moment.

Afterwards the commentator said (something like) 'was there ever a doubt that that wouldn't go in?'. Which I guess means the same as 'was there ever a doubt that that would go in?' Strange thing, English.
