Site is down, just tried to connect via twitter with same result. AFC Fylde lost on penalties at Chester. They appealed the result as the rules governing penalty shootouts were not followed. There is no indication in the press release from AFC Fylde what exactly was wrong, guess they had an inexperienced referee. The FA ruled that the match be replayed next week at Chester, or with the approval of both clubs at an alternative ground, or switched to Fylde. Conditions would be the same for both sides, hard to workout what the ref got wrong. Thought , except when VAR involved, the referees decision was final. See recent thread about refs getting it wrong.

They had taken 10 penalties each with the score at 7-7. The 11th Fylde player was too injured to take his penalty so forfeited and the 11th Chester player scored. Not sure what should happen in this circumstance , the 1st Fylde taker then takes his second ? Surely that then gives them an advantage?

If it was just a dodgy shoot out, surely they could meet up behind closed doors and jsut redo the shoot out

If one team is a man down one player on the other side doesn’t take a penalty. After the 10th they start again with player 1.
