Fair play to the UK government. A new achievement. 19:34 - Nov 6 with 3828 views | BlueBadger | The first ever national strike from nurses is happening. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-63403850 I've never been an RCN member, because I've found them to be a bit supine and elitist(healthcare is a team game, I'm a Unison man), so for them to be doing this is massive. That said, if I'm not working(I fall under the 'critical care' exemption criteria) I WILL be joining be joining my colleague on the picket lines. There will be a LOT of lies put out by the government in the next few weeks. Don't fall for it kids. [Post edited 6 Nov 2022 22:39]

Fair play to the UK government. A new achievement. on 05:46 - Nov 8 by Ely_Blue | Is it the government that are putting out the lies that part of the “demands” are RPI (currently 12%) +5% as the pay demand? I just want to know if that’s BS or not? [Post edited 8 Nov 2022 5:52]

That is correct but also worth mentioning this is after a decade of real term pay cuts. I think this would leave them just above where they were in 2010.

Fair play to the UK government. A new achievement. on 03:37 - Nov 8 by BlueBadger | How it will likely work is if you are working in an acute(read: inpatient) setting the guidance will be that you are exempt from strike action and will go in as normal. After that, it's up to her - I'm a critical care outreach nurse by trade - if I'm rostered on for days of strike action I will go in. However, I plan on taking EVERY minute of my breaks, finishing ON THE DOT and will be unavailable to referrals for anything other than cardiac arrest calls and will be standing with my colleagues on any picket lines at the building. If I'm not working, I will on the picket line and not picking up any short shifts or doing 'bank' work. [Post edited 8 Nov 2022 3:45]

Yes, I think this is the way that most nurses down here will interpret it also. Work to rule effectively.
