Slightly concerned about his last six months, although sounds like he made a bad choice or two in the summer window as much as anything. Be interesting to know why he didn't get any kind of look-in at Boro — again may well be just confluence of being a panic signing & the change of manager, but if fit you'd think he'd at least have had a few minutes off the bench here and there.
Main thing: can we get him up to speed to be genuine, match-starting competition for us, because we need that almost immediately and it's been a long time for him. If we can then obviously there's a heck of a player for this level and he'll really galvanise our options in there, could be a tremendous addition. I’d say if we’re signing him after having a look at him in training the he must be fit, or nearly there, staff must’ve watched him and monitored him and are happy enough. |  |

Yep, definitely have to trust the pros rather than our usually ill-founded/ignorant concerns. Just hope we can get him very swiftly to last season's level, not been ideal at his stage of career to go so long without playing. | |
