I saw him at Newcastle airport the day after out game there and we were on our way home. It had been St Patrick’s Day and he’d obviously been out on the town after the game , as he walked into the airport lounge sporting a batty St Patrick’s Day big green felt hat … but what struck me was how tiny he was for a striker! I thought, how the hell did he ever score goals with his head? Just shows you it’s all about reading the game and timing.

Went to see him last year at Bury FC , an evening with Marcus Stewart , and you are correct very small in stature, looked as good that night as he did back in 2000 , great night and one I’m glad I attended after hearing his sad news . | | | |
