I really don't get why Johnson needed to have a middle man Richard Sharp, to introduce him to his own cousin to arrange the loan. It all looks so dodgy and as believable as driving to Barnard Castle to test your eye sight!

Sharp clearly doesn't understand the public sector ethos, where the mixing of public and private interests is not permitted, and where the appearance of something matters equally.

Cynics might suggest that the 'loan to the bloater is connected to the bloater appointing Shaep as Chariman of the BBC
Please note, it was a loan, not a gift as that might infer bribery, taking a backhander etc which was never the case. Absolutely. If only because it was the gutbucket, who is known as a paragon of moral virtue
