He got so much stick in the first few months. And I can see why, because when you watch him he doesn't appear to be blessed with fantastic pace. His shooting isn't Ted Phillips-like. He doesn't dominate aerially. He looks like he kinda meanders around. But somehow he just is unbelievably effective as a no.9. Always seems to be in the right place, doesn't get caught offside, manages to get into scoring spots in the box, is unselfish and lays the ball off really well. He's a hugely deceptive talent that helps us hold the ball up front really well, and just makes us so strong and dangerous, and now has a really good goal tally. He's becoming one of my favourite players.

I really like him. He covers the ground deceptively fast. Hangs on to the ball like velcro whilst holding off very physical challenges; he is strong. Doesn't dominate aerially? - check out the number of times he cleared our lines with a header against Burton yesterday. I totally agree with you that he is a deceptive talent and to top it - a thoroughly nice person.

No...he's got stick from people who know nothing of football.

It should also be remembered that he has only started 21 of 34 league games, coming on a further 12 times.

He’s also improved a great deal as the season has gone on, not that he was ever bad like some idiots claimed but his all round game and general awareness show the benefits of McKenna’s coaching.

The extended highlights also show how he, and Morsy, kept the ball moving in the middle before it got played out to Clarke before our first goal. A real team player probably playing his best football - that enormous grin after his goal yesterday was well deserved.
