50/50 tackle of the season? 14:02 - Mar 8 with 1253 viewsTOWNcalledMALICE

Janoi Donacien in the first half, then the run afterwards.

“and Chaplin makes it 5-0, know one dreamt of this last night….”

Clarke's tackle in a similar position on his debut was pretty tasty as well. Both tackles broke the opposition player. Great stuff.

Speaking of breaking players, wasn't it Matt Bates* on Huckerby* in the 2006* derby at FPR?

* all could be wrong

It was on Luke Chadwick. He was stretchered off and needed a knee op after going into the advertising hoardings

Clarke for me too. I winced at that one. Reminded me of psycho Stuart Pearce at Forest - he would crunch into tackles several times every match. Frightening!

Luongo's in about the same place was a cruncher too.

If we could have finished that sequence with a goal it would have been one of my favourites ever.

Luongo made a couple in the game too, the second of which was an absolutely disgusting backheel hooked tackle around the player. Love the look of him.

It was a tame version of Martin Keown v Bam Bam in our 2000 Prem game against Arsenal, but still very good.

Bates himself got badly injured though a week later when we were playing Barnsley away.

Yes, agreed. Turning defence into attack - Donacien ain't so shabby going forward as some like to argue.

Good to see that this and Luongo's challenge feature on Town in Five.

Who was their player who got in the way of a Veno free kick? I remembered that as Chadwick. Must have got in a muddle.
