Not often we get mentioned in Champions League stats. on 23:20 - Mar 14 with 1330 views | Miaow | I believe Ray Crawford remains the only Englishman to score five goals in one match in the European Cup. We are massive. That was in the 10-0 win over Floriana. Those other two five-goal hauls for English players in Europe were also in double-figure victories: Osgood's came in a 13-0 (21-0 agg.) Cup Winners' Cup win against Jeunesse Hautcharage of Luxembourg and Hector's was in a 12-0 (16-1 agg.) UEFA Cup win over Finn Harps of Ireland - Derby were 9-0 up at half-time in that game. Osgood also scored a hat-trick in the first leg, meaning he scored eight of Chelsea's 21 goals in that tie, and their aggregate win was a European competition record until it was equalled by Feyenoord in the following season's UEFA Cup. | |
