Taken the plunge and got a phone - can anyone share thoughts on the best app for monitoring messages and browsing please?

Not sure about monitoring messages and stuff like that but I used an app called screen time when my kids were younger. This could render the phone useless after a time of your choosing plus limit the amount of time they spent on the phone.

Both mine have phones. They are allowed them for an hour before school and an hour after when they’re at home, and to take them when they go out round mates or whatever. Phones are verboten the rest of the time. I randomly check their phones and look at their usage, apps etc. they aren’t allowed Instagram or Facebook accounts yet. Pretty straightforward really.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Yep we have the same thing, it’s an iPhone feature now. It sends regular reports on what they’re up to.
