Elon must have clicked the “flood feeds with ads and then some”. Almost every third tweet is promoted s5ite; crypto scammers, AI scammers, authors you’ve never heard of, and all manner of crap from brands you’ve never heard of.

Due to him being a moron and generally very unpleasant, the only companies willing to pay for advertising is those types of things, whilst the 'bot' problem is worse than it's ever been, which is one of the main things he claimed he was going to sort out before he bought the site in the first place.

Absolute bin fire isn't it?

The worst it’s been for some time. I’m sure most users are like me and block or report all promoted ads so I’d love to know what sort of value advertisers think they’re getting from twitter.

Clicking the “why this ad?” option most often results in “the advertiser is trying to reach people aged 35 and over who live in the US”. Wow, really great targeting there.

Switching over to the 'for you' algorithm is really weird. It does;t matter what you're SAID you're interested in, it just shows you an endless parade of right wing grifters and hate speakers.
