..as the title suggests SCC in their wisdom have installed a bus lane in the lead up to the crossroads….you can only get in the left lane a few yards from the lights..meaning it will only take 3 or 4 cars wanting to go straight ahead or turn left to bring all traffic to a standstill..no IBC buses use this road and it’s solely for the odd park and ride bus…can only imagine the carnage that’s going to ensue after Town home games…😬 [Post edited 27 Jul 2023 16:10]

The car-nage is caused by the people in the cars, usually sole occupancy cars, usually on journeys of no more than a mile or two.
It's ironic every one seems on board for the climate crisis, yet put a bus lane in to promote park & ride, provide people with the realities of their travel choices that cars cause congestion and are environmentally damaging and everyone buries the climate crisis as someone else's problem because they must be able to drive with unfettered access to roads, because that's the glossy ad they got sold by the car manufacturers. |  | | |

When we get 'where to park for the match' threads, PArk and Ride is generally dismissed as an option because the buses get stuck in traffic. Hopefully this will make P&R a valid option now.
I don't doubt it will take a bit of time to cotton on and initially it will be mayhem, but hopefully, in time more people will use the P&R taking cars of the roads of Ipswich benefitting everyone. |  |
