Town TV - The Good, The Bad and The Ugly 15:27 - Jul 30 with 6574 views | SheffordBlue | Interested in people's constructive criticism on Town TV so far. My two penn'orth: The Good: Match day show with James Tzanoudakis and Matt Holland was very good and a big improvement on iFollow. The issues with the interrupted stream weren't TownTV's fault. The additional content - A day in the life of, Three Words, in-depth interviews has been a good mix even if not all of it has been to my taste. The Bad: Not really clear going forward what will be 'Freemium' content and what will be 'Subscriber Only'. Maybe they haven't worked it out yet but some comms on this would be good. No edited segments from the matchday show e.g. I couldn't watch it live but wanted to watch the Sam Morsy interview. Would be good to have this sort of things as standalone clip or have bookmarks to easily find it rather than have to search for it in a long show. The Ugly: Having to log into the app/website EVERY SINGLE TIME despite accepting cookies. T&Cs for subscription weren't clear on sign up. I.e Wasn't made clear that they'd be taking recurring payments.

Town TV - The Good, The Bad and The Ugly on 18:50 - Jul 30 by itfcjoe | No highlights of the last 3 friendlies available No YouTube uploads since Hirst signing interview (how do we keep young/new fans engaged?) And you can watch back the full broadcast from Innsbruck, but it includes the first hourish of just the holding screen - surely someone can cut that out, or put some edit points of when games are starting etc as it’s not easily scrollable like YT is. So hard to watch a 5 hour broadcast, with massive dead airs, without ability to jump back and forward 10 seconds or so - having to use the scroll bar is painful as when watching games you want to jump back 10-20 seconds every now and again If you are going to have the coverage, you need someone sharp on editing to just get stuff sorted quickly. |
I heard you mention the YouTube issue on the BM pod Joe and completely agree. I've managed to get a couple of Aussie friends here into following us and one of them even subscribed to ifollow for the last month of last season. However, they generally follow us via YouTube which played a big part in building up their knowledge and enthusiasm for the club. Now they knew nothing of the Hutchinson signing and are asking me what's going on ... If the club want to gain overseas supporters there has to be an easy free accessible online presence. As for Town TV, like Illinois I'm waiting until after Sunderland. Annoyingly with the amount of games that will be on Sky this season I also have to subscribe to Bein over here. My costs have gone up massively. The price of success I guess.

Ross normally manages to edit Gameday professionally within an hour or so, and he's often out on the road.

I'm signing up this Friday (4th) and will cancel before the month is up...then renew before the next broadcast game (and so on). The International Breaks provide an opportunity to stop and start the monthly subscriptions such that I can cover the entire season (starting with the Stoke game) with 8 purchases. I don't care about summer "filler" stuff (especially at 20 Quid a go). If an annual (once per year) subscription is made available I'm sure I'll seriously consider that to avoid the stop-start process...but even then it'll need to be well discounted from the 12 x 20 quid option in place currently).
Town TV - The Good, The Bad and The Ugly on 22:13 - Aug 1 with 617 views | robbiesbird | If I happen to be in a country like say, Luxembourg, where Sky Sports doesn’t have a broadcasting partner, does Towntv stream to that country if you have a monthly international pass? Is that what is supposed to happen? Or am I reading the rules wrong?
