The Up series (n/t) 06:49 - Sep 4 with 947 viewsDJR

I don't know if any of you have watched the Up series, which charts the lives of 14 children who were 7 in 1964. The first programme was Seven Up, and I first came across it in 1984 when I saw 28 Up.

It's an absolutely fascinating series, and I was sad to read in the Guardian that one of the participants, Nick Hinchon, has recently died.

Yes, that was a real shame.

And for those not aware of the series, the premise for the film was the Jesuit motto, ""Give me a child until he is seven and I will give you the man".

Seen the entire series, and always look forward to the next one (3 years and counting!) I envy people who can come at this new and binge watch people's lives developing over 50 years without having to wait 7 years between series

Was sad to hear about Nick...I remember him discussing his health problems in 63 Up, and commenting that if there is a 70 Up series he wouldn't be around to take part; clearly led a full and varied life from following the series.

I somehow missed that Mr.Apted had passed.
Looking at the date I can see why possibly with World events at that time.
