Well said. Typical of BBC to censor it.

BBC management, in response to political pressure, seems to be determined to reduce or remove the parts of the service that it's largest supporters appreciate the most. The vandalism of local radio is just one more example.

Politically motivated managed decline. As she said, it's part of the destruction of local communities, especially those in rural areas. Those ignoramuses spout 'defund' messages really have no idea what they're enabling.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

the Beeb are doing this all by themselves, remember theyre still happy to pay millions to the "talent", so the idea they need to cost cut local radio to make up the shortfall in license fee revenue doesnt add up

and its only going to carry on declining not because of people 'defunding' the Beeb but because theres a generational gap of those who view tv via the Netflix/Disney+ model, and those who accepted paying for the beeb, the latter group are getting very old and diminishing in numbers.

ironically these local radio cuts are in part based on trying to attract the netflix/disney + audience to identify with the beeb instead and carry on paying for it.

Part of the problem as you've illustrated is the outdated term 'TV Licence'. When you consider what else the BBC provides, it really can't be compared to Netflix or the other streaming services.
