Newcastle sold 4,000 tickets for San Siro 13:29 - Sep 19 with 1799 viewsBobbychase

5,000 fewer than the mighty Ipswich in 2002. Were they restricted in some way?

Also, no surprise to read reports of a Newcastle fan being stabbed by Italians. Imagine how UEFA would react against English clubs if away fans were getting routinely stabbed at European games.

It's a really grubby dilapidated stadium... but an experience.

I thought back in 2001 it wouldn’t pass the required stadium requirements of the UK. Still great to be there though.

I think i read the San Siro is going soon. Maybe they are winding it down somewhat?

I seem to remember the Inter fans not caring about the Uefa cup and it was half empty hence we were given loads more tickets. They also conned me into drinking alcohol free Becks before it was a thing! what a weekend that was though.

Yes, think its being leveled and another being built up the road? Same with the Nou Camp. I went there for a Champions league game while on a trip there. Home end, right behind the goal, superb, beer freely available, drink in your seat. Then it was toilet time. I think there were 2 cubicles serving about 5,000 in our section. Missed a superb Neymar free kick, 25 yards, over the Celtic wall.

Took my wife and two boys and stayed over. Two main memories were of 1,000s of Town fans around the city and on the way back we walked through some dodgy streets and were accosted by two "Ladies of the night" one was about 16 and the other was about 46! Not sure if it was a Family Business

Presumably more home tickets have been sold for this one than ours though, so perhaps fewer away tickets than when we went there.

Doesn't take away from what a phenomenal following it was.
