Ext speakers won't work for Town TV audio com. And only 1 device allowed :( 17:49 - Sep 30 with 919 views | Ryorry | Tried both laptops. Youtube videos are fine. Also annoying only one device per subscriber's allowed, I find that ridiculous - the comm has no volume control so can't hear in other rooms when I'd like to use my phone as back-up.

It's coming from the same IP, and my phone number is registered with Town TV as is my laptop under the same subscription, so it's clear that I'm not sharing it with anyone else. Anyone else could however visit my home & sit listening to it for free in my living room, if you'd stopped to think about it.

I really didn't need to stop and think about it. Just you aren't thinking about the reasons that it might be limited to one device, and there are multiple, not just sharing.

Bandwidth for starters. There are 4 in my house, using four devices, some of the time using 7 or 8 devices at the same time as each other as the kids use two at once sometimes, for unknown reasons. Lets say 4 is the average number of persons in an average house, and Mrs Ryorry wants to listen in the greenhouse, Ryorry Jr wants to listen in his bedroom, Little miss Ryorry wants to listen in the bath, and your using two so that you can listen in a room other than your computer. Thats 5 in one house, but let's say the average in Town supporters houses is four. I don't know how many audio subscribers we have, but for arguments sake let's say it's 30,000 across Suffolk and nationally. With multiple devices, on average that suddenly goes up to 120,000 devices accessing the server, sucking up bandwidth and making the server slower, so the audio runs behind the live action. Not to mention, the extra server space will end up costing the club more and so everyones subscription cost goes up. But like you said, it's ridiculous.

Err, what? TownTV audio commentary simply won’t go through my ext speakers, where YouTube videos will, and I’m asking why, if any techies can suggest why.

I accept bandwidth. As for your other reasons, I said 2 devices not 4; and I doubt many people would let others use their phone for 98 minutes.

Will switch bluetooth on & try that next time, cheers. They're comparatively ancient (Advent ones, pre-blue-tooth being common) but worth a shot 👍
