I'm not a maths teacher, so perhaps this is flawed (my wife would say, "likely" :-D), but based on ten-year averages in the Championship, here’s what we would appear to need to do the rest of the way to reach the play-offs or earn automatic promotion:

Play-offs: 1.41 points per match from the remaining 37 matches.
• That's 52 more points for a total of 74 (ten-year playoff average)
• Example: win 14, draw 10, lose 13

Automatics: 1.84 ppm.
• That's 68 more points from 37 matches for a total of 90 (ten-year automatic promotion average)
• Ex: win 20, draw 8, lose 9

Goal differentials notwithstanding.

We are presently on a 2.44 point per match pace and have 19 home matches and 18 away matches remaining.

Not yet, fellow veggie enthusiast.
As Super McK says, we take it match by match.
Cheers, Herbi!
