The article was suggesting a Unionist alliance between Labour and the Tories. SNP and "The Conservative and Unionist Party". Surely not! If Labour takes power at Westminster, and cracks on with things, whereas SNP are a Minority Government and can't on devolved matters, then long term that benefits Labour, strategically. It undermines the SNP record for competence and shows the benefits of a Labour administration. Add in the split (almost 50-50) between pro-Humza metropolitan, multicultural, progressives and pro-Forbes old money, rural, monocultural traditionalists and, in a Parliament with PR, a split between soft left wing and Tartan Tory Scot Nats is very possible. |  |
