See a lot of people saying that it's poor from Rotherham etc, but was it their decision? They said that they are not doing a pitch inspection as they have no questions as to the playability of the surface. However, the game wasn't called off due to the pitch or the stadium, but rather the roads etc around it. Did they ever offer "confirmation" that it will "definitely" go ahead, as I keep seeing bandied about?
For the record, I'm thoroughly pissed off as this is what I've looked forward to all week, and I was only going to watch on Sky. Feel so sorry for those that have travelled.

Fair points
Am wondering why the Ipswich Supporters club or whatever it's called are silent. Surely they should be making some noise about this or what on earth is the point of them as an organisation?
If they are to have any credibility as a voice for fans, then they need to engage asap
Completely agree - maybe they are engaged but not any Board members. I will make some enquiries with the ITFC Supporters Club.
I emailed the EFL to see if they could provide some clarity on the decision making process. They shared a link to this video that explains it. It would be helpful if they (or the clubs) shared this when there are late cancellations:
Yes and no. Rovrum looked at the pitch which was fine. What should happen is that there are wider discussions involving other parties before making such positive statements. These weren't just adverse weather conditions but severe and with a river adjacent should have been a trigger.
My issue is the positivety of the statements that were issued which lead me to make the journey.
There should be joint discussions with club, police, env agency and any other party to get a unified position.

Had it not been on Sky (ignore the fact it would have been played at a different time) I would imagine the postponement would have come much much sooner. I have a feeling Sky puts on a lot of pressure in these situations. Look at the 'snow fox' game where we played Leicester in a Blizzard. That game was on sky and should never have gone ahead let alone be allowed to play out (But I am glad it did)

Personally I think if Sky were directly applying pressure in these situations it would have come out by now from someone who had left the game. I think it's more likely that when clubs are on Sky they are really keen for their moment on TV and hold off in hope they'll be able to play.
Worth pointing out as well that there have been really late cancellations where Sky aren't involved.
I think another dimension here is that with multiple flood warnings, accidents and other issues going on for emergency services and local authorities that the decision on the game will have been 'another thing' they were having to make decisions on rather than 'the only thing' they were having to make a decision on.
