The detailed report needs to be read. They were hit for a number of things including this incident with the lino:

They were also chucking stuff on or towards the pitch (again) and a lino got barged over by one of their fans at the end.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

No because we didn’t…

Assault a lineman.

Assault a member of the press.

Throw missiles onto the pitch during play.

Play 4 songs before asking fans to leave the pitch.

The stewards didn’t celebrate the goals and didn’t just let people run on.

And much more…

(This is why the club had to be seen to discourage it although wanting and expecting it to happen at the same time - shame ours wasn’t a proper one and met with boo’s from our own fans)

Looks like the FA will get lots of dosh then🙄 if they fined every club that won promotion or escaped relegation for pitch invasions then we are doomed!

They won’t, so we’ll be fine. It looks like this is more about Wednesday failing to take reasonable measures to discourage/prevent the pitch invasion and then their fans being numpties. We actively discouraged it, but when the inevitable happened there were no issues and control was regained quickly.

The throwing of missiles was expressly excluded from consideration and formed no part of the reasoning of the Regulatory Commission (See paras 11 to 16 of the reasons).

The FA, for some reason, did not charge the club in respect of those matters, although they tried to get them considered as part of the charges that they did bring. The Commission declined to do so.

So it can't be said that that was a factor affecting the quantum of the fine.

Given the state of the regulatory framework surrounding clubs, the criminal law, and clubs' duties of care towards those at matches, it is daft to suggest that ITFC wanted a pitch invasion. There is absolutely no evidence for that proposition, which runs directly counter to all public statements that have been made by the highly competent staff at the Club.
