I really should get around to reading 'Possession' sometime.

I did read Possession around the time it came out, but can't remember much about it. From recollection, it was well worth reading.

In the 1980s and early 1990s, I was a great admirer of Iris Murdoch and read most of her books, but she seems to have rather gone out of fashion since her death.

Whether A S Byatt will go the same way remains to be seen.

Not read possesion. I have enjoyed her folktale collections though. Stylishly written and inventive.

Put it on your Christmas list - it’s a fantastic novel. Up there with the best books I have ever read.

I've only just found out that A S Byatt was the sister of Margaret Drabble, the author, whose work I don't know.
