He was interviewing an ex-Liverpool player much younger than himself and further advanced stages of MND.
Interview too place at Anfield so Lord Marcus Stewart had the opportunity to say "last I was here I scored the winner" and BBC dutifully showed his goal from 2000/2001 season.
On a serious note; when did the change occur that the heading of the ball went from causing Alzheimer's / Dementia to MND? 60s footballers like Charlton, Peters, Astle and my own fatherhood to have developed Dementia whilst younger sportsmen; Stewart, Weir & Burrow to name but 3.
I don’t get overly emotional about stuff but seeing Darby like that at his age is heartbreaking. I assume he has kids, not being able to play with them converse with them freely and easily Is terrible.
Stewart well what more can be said about him, dreadful that he’s starting to see the impact of the disease.
