Hardly surprising- interest rates killed the market. The other factor is the Govt do so many ‘stamp duty holidays’, people just sit waiting for the next one (saving thousands of pounds). For a party that supposedly believes in the free market, they don’t half like manipulating it).

I’m sure they’ll do another stamp duty break in the near future as part of their election bribes….

I didn't pay stamp duty when I brought my first house last year. Isn't the threshold for first time buys still something like £300k?

Was bumped up to £425k in the Truss era but don’t know if it’s fallen back down again.
