So five wins and a draw SHOULD be enough. Except I'm pretty sure it won't be.

I agree.

The mad thing is West Brom won this League with 81 points in the 2007/08 season

The record points totals for runners up and 3rd place look set to be smashed this year. My guess is that we will need to match our total points for last year (98) to get second. Mad. Yet achievable. Which is also mad.

I make you right; two teams are going to finish with a points total in mid 90s and miss out. Insane

Is that Middlesbrough tally of 91 points from 97/98 as well? That was a slightly weird season, Charlton in 4th only just below Sunderland and us a few points behind because we only started our season in November.

I bet Mick said at some stage that season that "it's a bonkers league".

Yes, put season 1991 instead of 98

I noticed this is our 29th season (if I remember correctly) in the second tier since the 86/87 season,

The most points we have ever finished within is 87 in the 1999/00 season. We are well on our way to beating that

Other thing I noticed is that we finished in the play offs with 73 points in the 2003/04 season
& the 96/97 season we finished in the playoffs with 74 points. Not to mention we won this league in 1992 with 84 points.

This team has done incredibly well. Everyone involved should be proud of themselves
